Diamond Bar senior assaulted in home-invasion robbery

One of the robbers punched the 90-year-old victim in the face.

A 90-year-old man was punched and held at gunpoint during a home-invasion robbery in Diamond Bar Saturday afternoon, but he declined medical treatment.

Authorities said the robbers took a car key and a house key.

Citing the ongoing investigation, sheriff’s Sgt. Michael Luter declined to say what else the robbers stole from the home on the 23800 block of Sunset Crossing Road. The robbery was reported shortly after 2 p.m.

The two robbers knocked on the door, sheriff’s Sgt. Nicole Davis said. When the victim answered, the duo went in and made their way to the back of the residence.

“One of the suspects punched the victim in the face and dragged him to the living room,” Davis said.

One robber pointed a gun to the victim, while the other robber ransacked the home, Davis said.

She said the robbers may have fled in a white van.
