Firefighters extinguish blaze in commercial building in Pomona, 1 injured

A firefighter suffered a minor injury Wednesday morning while battling a fire that caused significant damage to a Pomona business.

Crews responded to a building near First and Reservoir streets about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and encountered heavy fire and smoke coming from the approximately 100-foot-by-100-foot structure, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Nearly 60 firefighters battled the flames.

The bulk of the flames was extinguished about 2:05 a.m.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
