With the fourth pick in the fourth round and the 110th pick overall of the 2020 NFL Draft, UCLA cornerback Darnay Holmes was selected by the New York Giants.
Holmes is the second Bruin to be selected in the 2020 NFL Draft.
The 5-foot-10, 198-pound former Bruin is the program’s first cornerback drafted since 2017 when Fabian Moreau was selected by Washington with the 81st overall pick.
In January, Holmes decided to forgo his senior year at UCLA and enter the draft. After sitting out the first two games of the 2019 season, due to injury, he started in the remaining 10 games and led the team with two interceptions. The Pasadena native played in 35 games with 33 starts in his three-year Bruin career.
Holmes enrolled early at UCLA in the winter of 2017 after being listed as a five-star recruit coming out of Calabasas High. His claim to fame came in the 2015 CIF-Southern Section Western Division championship game when Holmes scored five touchdowns in four different ways.
