“I have dreamed about this day ever since I was little. It took lots of hard work and support from my family and friends to get to this position,” Aupiu tweeted.
At 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds, the Oxnard native chose UCLA over offers from Arizona State, California, Kansas and Oregon State. According to Maxpreps.com, Aupiu has racked up 112 total tackles, 19.0 sacks and three forced fumbles over his previous two years on the Pacifica High School’s varsity squad.
Aupiu is the second hard commit for the Bruins’ 2021 class as he joins Bishop Alemany High (Mission Hills) wide receiver DJ Justice.
