Person In Isolation May Be First Homeless COVID-19 Case In LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – Mayor Eric Garcetti said Friday that a homeless person in Los Angeles is in isolation after possibly contracting the novel coronavirus.

Garcetti said the person has been isolated at Dockweiler Beach near Los Angeles International Airport in an RV — one of many now set up to quarantine the sick and homeless.

Public health officials are tracing where the person has been and with whom that person might have been in close contact.

Earlier in the day, officials said there had not been any confirmed cases of the virus among the city’s homeless population.
